California's population is only 37% White (non-hispanic), 14.5% Asian, but 49% Hispanic/Latino/Black. This helps explain the following:

• Poverty in California is the highest in the nation at 15.4% (after all government support is considered).   
• Another 10.3% of California population would be "impoverished"  or about 25% without government transfers. This is the highest in the nation.
  
• California also has the lowest literacy rate in the nation at ~75%, meaning ~25% of the population is illiterate. For comparison, New Hampshire has a 95% literacy rate with very few minorities.
  
• California has the 2nd highest tax rates when adding State and Local taxes at 13.5% after New York state at 15.9%.
  

Income and Wealth

• Per capita income of Hispanics is one half that of non-Hispanic whites, and household net worth is less than one tenth.
• Fifty percent of Hispanic households use some form of welfare, the highest rate of any major population group.

Crime

• Hispanics are 3.3 times more likely to be in prison than whites; they are 4.2 times more likely to be in prison for murder, and 5.8 times more likely to be in prison for felony drug crimes.
• Young Hispanics are 19 times more likely than young whites (and slightly more likely than young blacks) to be in youth gangs.

Education

• Hispanics drop out of high school at three times the white rate and twice the black rate.
• Even third-generation Hispanics drop out of school at a higher rate than blacks and are less likely to be college graduates.
• From 1992 to 2003, Hispanic illiteracy in English rose from 35 percent to 44 percent.
• The average Hispanic 12th-grader reads and does math at the level of the average white 8th-grader.

Families and Health

• At 43 percent, the Hispanic illegitimacy rate is twice the white rate, and Hispanic women have abortions at 2.7 times the white rate.
• Hispanics are three times more likely than whites not to have medical insurance, and die from AIDS and tuberculosis at three times the white rate.
• In California, the cost of free medical care for illegal aliens forced 60 hospitals to close between 1993 and 2003.

Attitudes

• Only 33 percent of citizens of Hispanic origin consider themselves “Americans” first. The rest consider themselves either “Hispanic/Latino” or their former nationality first.

Tucker: Outrageously Racist and Completely Insane Blacks on MSDNC

Most of the Blacks that get accepted into college or university journalism school are accepted even though they are often unable to perform at an academically proficient level in High School. This is a giant hidden scandal underway in America right now. See my post "One Lone Honest School in Buffalo New York" But they are graduated from HS anyway. I've written many posts about totally dishonest school systems that pass black kids that literally don't know much of anything or have barely attended any of their HS classes. 

 

Then, these same "graduates" get accepted through lowered standards for admission to "colleges" who are paid by government student loan money that is given indiscriminately regardless of standards or qualifcations.  The"colleges" are more than happy to take all that "free" money and accommodate these "students," thereby continuing the charade of academic and intellectual "achievement" so that colleges get rich. This is a $1.6T US government student loan scam of course. Little of that money will be paid back. It's also the dumbing-down of higher education and a massive monetary enrichment of colleges and universities that continues today. Loans are still being made as bad debts rack up.

 

It doesn't make me mad or hurt my feelings, but there ARE consequences. 

The following story is what happens when you let intellectually deficient and radically racist (black) people run rampant, without supervision, and are given a huge voice that is amplified on prime time TV.  They are so stupid that they end up saying insane and hateful things. They're just vomiting emotion and illogic (that Tucker dissects), and a lot of hate. 

 

They are literally fanning a race war.  These are the "fruits of affirmative action" gone beserk.  Have a listen. Tell me if you agree with my assessment.

Because of this crazy chain of events described above, MSDNC (and their owner Comcast) managers are unable or unwilling "to fix" this bizarre state of affairs. Of course, the entire station should be shut down entirely.  It won't be as MSDNC reliably gives insane and entirely false narratives about whites and Republicans with really crazy/insane ideas to their DEMOCRAT audience. Sliming of White people and Republicans is the name of the game. And Comcast must be OK with this.

Kirsch: Still Think Covid Vaccines are Safe??

People tell me I’m crazy all the time for believing that the COVID vaccines are unsafe.

But all I am doing is making the obvious conclusions from all the data in plain sight, including people’s reactions when challenged.

For example, at dinner last night, I revealed that my occupation was a “myth buster” and then people asked “what myth?” and I said that the vaccines were unsafe. Later, one of the attendees told me I should be ashamed of myself for spreading misinformation. I asked, “Do you have any data to back that up?” She said, “I don’t want to talk to you.”

Does that sound familiar?

Here’s a short checklist of observations that would be very hard to explain if the vaccines are safe and effective.

The sanity checks

The overall sanity check is that all the data (including observing peoples’ behavior when challenged) I’ve seen is consistent with the unsafe hypothesis and not consistent with a very safe vaccine with mild, short-lasting side-effects.

Here’s a list of data points that suggest that I’m sane in no particular order:

1. Hundreds of VAERS safety signals are being deliberately ignored by the CDC including the all important death safety signal. The death safety signal was triggered using the CDC’s own methodology, and nobody in the world will acknowledge that. This tells you there is a cover-up.
2. VAERS is 5.4X underreported for the COVID vaccines compared to earlier vaccines. When you actually collect the data, you find that VAERS appears to be around 5.4X underreported compared to earlier vaccines. This means that when we find that “acute cardiac failure” is elevated by 475X in VAERS, the actual increase is 2,565X higher than earlier vaccines. So we are probably looking at around 2,500 deaths per million doses of the vaccine. Even if this estimate is off by 100X, this is way past the stopping condition for a safe vaccine.
3. Healthcare workers observe too many vaccine related deaths for this to be a safe vaccine. Just in the first 281 healthcare workers to respond to a survey, they observed over 1,128 vaccine-related deaths. That is not normal. It should be a stopping condition in any normal society. There are over 22 million healthcare workers in America which is 100,000 times larger than my sample size..
4. CDC hides from the facts. The CDC refuses to comment on anything I’ve written despite the fact that they are focused on reducing the amount of misinformation in order to reduce vaccine hesitancy. They won’t even return my calls offering to discuss our disagreements. This makes no sense since in a Google search for “misinformation superspreaders” I’m usually the top result. How do they expect to resolve the open issues by not communicating? They haven’t answered that (and the mainstream media won’t ask them this obvious question either).
5. The top US safety officials duck and run for cover when you try to show them adverse safety data. Scientists are supposed to seek the truth, not duck and run for cover when asked if they want to see safety data. Read this article about ACIP chair Grace Lee. Rather than answer a simple question about whether she wanted to see the confidential Israeli safety data (that the Israeli government is hiding from the public), she chose to call the police. It’s caught on video. 
6. The FDA’s Dr. Peter Marks publicly said he’d do anything to reduce vaccine hesitancy. I said the simplest way is to debate us and show the world how we got it wrong. He declined to do that. I still don’t know why. Do you?
7. There are no debates. No public health authority or any of the experts relied on by the mainstream media, will engage in a debate. We are willing to pay them to attend but nobody wants to, not for any amount of money.
8. Even David Gorski, the doctor who prides himself on discrediting misinformation spreaders, won’t touch the VAERS analysis showing that the results cannot be explained by “overreporting.” Nor will he verify the fact that VAERS has generated safety signals that nobody noticed, even when I offered him up to $1M to compensate him for his time.
9. The large number of “black swan events” in plain sight is simply too high to be consistent with the “safe and effective” claim. These events are typically sudden unexpected deaths or injuries in people.
10. The messages from the grave from high profile people. For example, the inventor of the v-safe program Joel Kallman died under very mysterious circumstances after getting his second dose of the vaccine. He supposedly died from COVID but he never got COVID. Nobody’s talking. See Oracle VP Joel Kallman Dies of “Covid” After Receiving Second Vaccine Injection. This article points out that there was no news that a prominent vaccinated person got COVID.\
11. It would be interesting to see Joel Kallman’s v-safe record. Why don’t they release it?
12. The Doug Brignole test. Brignole challenged the vaccine and said if he didn’t die, people like me should apologize. He died shortly after getting his latest vaccine.
13. The Died Suddenly Facebook group had over 300,000 members and was growing at 20,000 new people a day at the time Facebook removed it. This suggests a lot of people are dying suddenly all of a sudden. I wonder why?
14. Polling done through independent polling companies (using their lists) show people believe more people have been killed by the vaccines than by COVID. This would be impossible if the vaccines are perfectly safe. See Evidence of Harm.
15. The unexplainably high number of people dropping dead in plain sight recently and nobody even attempts to explain the cause or reveal the vaccination status of those who died.
16. The book Turtles all the way down: vaccine science and myth shows that the entire medical community has been fooled into believing that all vaccines are safe and effective. If it can happen for decades for all vaccines, it’s not much of a stretch to believe it is happening with the COVID vaccines as well. There is a reward of $1K for anyone finding a mistake in the book. So far, no takers.
17. Embalmer statistics. Even today, around 60% or more of the cases have strange clots associated with the COVID vaccine.
18. Insurance company data. There was a 12 sigma increase in the number of deaths in people under 60 in Q3 and Q4 of 2021. This corresponds to the peak of vaccination in April (there is a 5 month delay from peak vaccination to peak death).
19. The McCullough assumption. If a healthy person suddenly dies, and there’s no antecedent disease, it’s the vaccine until proven otherwise.” (See Two top cardiologists implicate COVID vax in all unexplained heart attacks since 2021).
20. Ignoring doctors who point out troubling safety statistics. Dr. William Makis has pointed out 80 doctors in Canada who died of suspicious circumstances in close time proximity to the COVID jabs. He wrote a letter to the CMA pointing this out and calling for an investigation. He was ignored. This should be extremely troubling to all doctors in Canada.
21. Extreme anecdotes. Stories like 6 stents, Wayne Root’s wedding, my survey of over 600 people confirming Root’s statistics, the podiatrist statistics, etc.
22. The Pfizer Phase 3 trial had more deaths in the vaccine group. The deaths were never properly investigated. Pfizer won’t comment.
23. Independent validation. Dr. Naomi Wolf’s team independently validated my claims on Fox News of hundreds of thousands killed and millions injured.
24. UK data scientist Joel Smalley hasn’t found any data supporting the safety of the COVID vaccines yet. He’s been looking worldwide since the start of the vaccination program for positive news on vaccine safety and hasn’t found anything yet.
25. The people in charge keep getting it wrong. It’s surprising we don’t trust the people who accurately predicted what has happened and continue to trust the people who got it wrong.
26. It’s been over 18 months and I still haven’t found a single person who is willing to explain how any of this data (such as the items listed in Evidence of Harm) is consistent with a perfectly safe and effective vaccine. That should make anyone suspicious.
27. Prominent people who once promoted the vaccine as safe and effective are now realizing that their original beliefs were based on trust and are calling for an immediate halt to the vaccines. When they look directly at the evidence, they find that their trust was misplaced. Dr. Aseem Malhotra is the latest high-profile doctor to come to this realization and nobody wants to debate him either.
28. Other countries are admitting their mistakes. Denmark is now not vaccinating anyone under 50 years old.
29. Top doctors are calling for an end to booster mandates in universities in published papers. They are being called unethical because the cure is worse than the disease. Amazingly, there is no discussion on college campuses after that paper came out. For example, at Stanford, there is complete silence with no debate. 
30. A recent poll done in Australia showed huge dissatisfaction with the COVID vaccines: An Australian poll of 45,000 respondents showed that only 35% of the vaccinated would get the shot again. Not a single unvaccinated person said they regret the decision (there were 35% unvaccinated). So only 22% of those surveyed are moving forward with future shots. The mainstream media doesn’t acknowledge the poll.
31. I hear stories all the time about doctors who privately tell people that they are very worried by what they are seeing but keeping quiet to save their jobs. Here’s one in the comments of this article. If the vaccine is safe and effective, what’s the explanation for this?

Summary

I have yet to find anyone who claims that I’m wrong about the COVID vaccines who is willing to sit down with me or any of my misinformation spreader colleagues to go through any of the data and show how it is consistent with the “safe and effective” narrative. They all decline.

I fail to understand how declining to engage in a discussion will save lives, but none of the people who decline will explain that.

More than two years ago, UCSF Professor Vinay Prasad co-authored a superb op-ed entitled, “Scientists who express different views on Covid-19 should be heard, not demonized.”

Perhaps someone has written an opposing op-ed that argues convincingly that Vinay was wrong and that scientists who express different views should be demonized and not heard?

Who DON'T US Blacks Hate??

From a first-hand account at AmRen, a contributor claims that US Blacks are the most racist people on the planet: 

"I went to a majority black school in the 1990s. It was bad back then, but it’s probably worse now since anti-whiteness has become even more socially acceptable. I was constantly teased, jumped, and bullied by blacks for being white. There was also a white teacher who got harassed and beaten, too. One day, her car was keyed and broken into while parked at the school. She went to the principal and then the school board and they said that she had to just accept it. They claimed it was the black kid’s culture and it was her fault for not understanding them. She sued and won half a million dollars. More people should do what she did. Blacks are the most racist people on the planet." 

These first-hand accounts of black hatred and violence are very widespread. Hundreds of these stories and accounts were being collected by Colin Flaherty for a book before he died.  Only American Renaissance is sharing them. Not surprisingly, AmRen is one of the most shunned websites on the planet.  Afterall, our country's racial reality must never be exposed. The reality is far too harsh. 

Gulfcoastcommentary blog also shares instances of "race realism" because so few people do.

"I'm an Asian that has faced endless persecution and bullying from black people since childhood. I tried to overcome my prejudice, but I simply cannot ignore facts. Blacks really do ruin everything. I've traveled the entire world and it is the same everywhere. My best friend is black and is well-aware of my racism, and understands. There are good black people out there, so treat them with respect, but the best thing to do is just stay away from them. White and Asian communities are the places to be."

In a response to the commenter above, another reader said: 

"To the Asian commenter, I find it interesting how the lying media is saying that hate crimes against Asians are increasing due to COVID, and started showing TV commercials about hate crimes against Asians. What they don't say is that blacks commit most of those crimes? [Doug here: Media NEVER say the obvious truth that blacks are the vast majority of criminal and violent perpetrators, regardless of the crime.] I'm from NYC (I now live in a suburb of Buffalo) and I know that blacks commit the majority of hate crimes in NYC against whites, Asians and Hasidic Jews.

The deep-state's lap-dog media and their leftist useful idiots never hold blacks accountable for their violence and Third World living conditions that they themselves create. Yes, there are good blacks and I try to treat them on an individual basis, but so many of them are low IQ parasites at best and criminals and thugs at worst that they are indeed a plague everywhere on the planet." 

US Blacks also hate Mexicans and they are increasingly lashing out and physically attacking both Asians and Whites. This situation is tacitly supported by the Democrats.

The largest number of hate groups in the US are black separatists. And don't forget that BLM, mostly a race-baiting scam, was essentially a white-hate group.

The Democratic Party, totally subservient or hostages to their black voting bloc, are now basically a hate group.  They have become the Anti-white party in a still-majority white nation(!) They don't seem to support people of faith or the heterosexual majority, either. It's as if the Democrats, who are so dependent on the consistent 90% black vote to retain their long-term hold on power, are suffering from Stockholm's Syndrome and identify as black themselves. Today's democrats are haters--just like their black constituents.  I have written about this insanity and perversion many, many times (see The Essential Gulfcoastcommentary Index). 

Conversely, there are very few hard core white racists. They’re such a small minority of our population as to be statistically irrelevant. The Ku Klux Klan has only about 3,000 members nationwide and shrinking, which pales in comparison to the at least 100,000-200,000 members of the Alt-Left militant group “Antifa”, which has proven to be much more violent and dangerous than their "Alt-Right" counterparts. There's so few White-on-Black hate crimes, that Blacks must INVENT them.  And I mentioned that Militant Black Separatist groups are the most numerous race haters.

Blacks hate THEMSELVES and kill each other in droves. Some 8,000+ blacks die at the hand of other blacks each year in the US alone. The majority black-mix population of Brazil is the murder capital of the world at some 50,000 murders per year---mostly black on black or black-mix on black-mix. Thats about 4 times the rate of murders in the US.  It's mostly a black thing.

US Black rappers are killing each other in droves. US Black rappers must have the lowest life expectancy of any group in the nation (world?).

I also know for a fact that US Blacks often HATE African blacks who have distinguished themselves academically and take US college and graduate school positions. They're resentful that Africans are getting admission into and tuition assistance for graduate school programs.  If that doesn't show you what sore losers US Blacks are, than nothing will. 

Nigerians come to the US to get advanced degrees and typically stay on afterwards, get great jobs and often make more money than the average white worker. It's true, search it on DuckDuckGo.  I know some of these successful Nigerians in Houston. 

I recently befriended a young 25 yo Kenyan student at the gym and we had lunch together. He's studying architecture at Rice University and doing well. 

(Interestingly, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana were former colonies of the UK.  The British influence on these countries and their educational systems shows notably when so many bright students from these countries, who have distinguished themselves academically, come to America for graduate school. 

Colonization is a bad word these days. Yes, it was generally exploitive and it had to end, but if it were so bad, why did all of the former British colonies join The Commonwealth after their independence??  The British were perhaps a civilizing and positive force for good in it's colonies.)

He promptly eliminated the entire Ministry of Climate and Environment, marking the first time in 35 years that Sweden does not have a specific climate ministry. People are crying that the world will crumble without funding bureaucrats who pretend they have the ability to alter the weather cycle with enough funding.

Klaus Schwab’s plans for Agenda 2030 are in jeopardy. “Environmental issues are going to be given a disadvantage at the same time when we have a huge challenge in Sweden when it comes to biodiversity and forestry,” stated Stockholm University professor Karin Bäckstrand. “We won’t meet the Agenda 2030 goals on biodiversity.”

Democratic leader Ebba Busch will serve as the new Minister for Energy, and 26-year-old Liberal Romina Pourmokhtari will serve as the Minister of Climate and Environment, The Nationalist Sweden Democrats do not support the goal of achieving net zero emissions.

Instead, the new government is prioritizing nuclear power initiatives that will make it increasingly difficult to shut down existing plants while using €36 billion to build new nuclear power stations. The new government is also considering reopening two nuclear power plants that discontinued operations in recent years. 

Yet another example of how Agenda 2030 and Schwab’s plan to alter the world will fail.

New Yorkers: AOC Has Got To Go!

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) is no longer the progressive sweetheart in the public eye. AOC’s willingness to thrust America into war has caused her supporters to see her as a hypocrite and a coward. “I believed in you, and you became the very thing you sought to fight against,” one member in a Bronx AOC town hall event yelled. “You ARE the establishment!” 

Her entire platform is crumbling. She came into the political sphere as an “outsider” who would fight against the establishment, but she is another swamp member. This is the same woman who pretended to cry at the southern border and demand that the encampments be taken down, only for her to ask the migrants to leave New York. Barely anyone showed up to her town hall meeting, but those who did had choice words for her.

AOC has voted to supply Ukraine with weapons and training. Her supporters were under the false impression that a progressive Socialist would be against a nuclear Armageddon. “You voted to mobilize and send money to Ukrainian Nazis! You are a coward! Where are you against the war mobilization?” one citizen shouted.

Hecklers began shouting, “AOC HAS GOT TO GO!” Her true colors are finally showing. She was never anti-establishment and never intended to be a voice for Main Street. This comes on the heels of Pelosi being booed at a major concert in New York and Jill Biden facing heckling at a Philadelphia Eagles game. All these incidents occurred in blue states. Things are not looking good for the Democrats this November.

Welcome to the New Age, where authority has no authority and does not deserve to act with any authority, but will act as if it does, anyway, and then lie to you about it. Nowhere is this quandary more vivid than in the racketeering operation formerly known as medicine.

As if there has not already been enough official fuckery over the lab-birthed Covid-19 virus, the CDC’s Vaccine Advisory Committee voted on Thursday to add Pfizer’s and Moderna’s mRNA shots to its childhood vaccine schedule. The vote was 15 to 0 — a final supreme gesture of contempt for the people of this land.

Had none of the committee members seen reports of mRNA-vaccinated children dropping dead from myocarditis induced by the vaccines? Or read about the effect of the vaxxes on the reproductive organs? Or the enhanced incidence of cancer? Or heard about the damage that the shots instigate in human immune systems? If not, that would be astounding. The news is all over the place (if not in the mainstream news media). Was any of this discussed in their deliberations? I don’t think so, but we may never know.

Adding the mRNA shots to the official vaccine schedule will make permanent the liability shield their makers enjoy under the current emergency use authorization (EUA). Pfizer and Moderna are now off-the-hook for any responsibility, unless fraud over the vaxxes is proven in a court of law. Given the vast evidence of harms done by these products, will that be a difficult thing to do? Consider: cases for fraud can be brought in any jurisdiction of the USA, not just in the notoriously corrupt DC federal district court, which does not recognize crime for what it is (crime).

This is the first time that a pharmaceutical under an EUA has been admitted to the childhood vaccine schedule. The Vaccine Advisory Committee said it was okay because it consulted with the Department of Justice’s Office of General Counsel, and the lawyers there said it was okay. One might ask: is it within the purview of the DOJ’s Office of General Counsel to review the medical criteria for such a decision? The answer must be no. How are they qualified? You may be certain they did not parse the drug trial data on the mRNA products, or study the official reports of deaths and injuries. In short, they know nothing. Their authority in the matter is vacated.

Since many states and localities go by the CDC’s vaccine guidelines, as well as pediatricians, then millions of children will be required to get the shots to attend school. So, the CDC has not only put an as-yet-untold number of kids on the road to disability, infertility, and death, but it may have coincidentally destroyed public schooling in America.

The so-called “uptake” on mRNA shots for children has been paltry. Parents do not want their kids to get the shots. Do you know why? I’ll tell you: Because, unlike the experts who sit on the CDC’s Vaccine Advisory Committee, many parents have actually read about the serious adverse reactions in young people who get the shots. And many more have heard enough horrifying rumors — despite the criminal delinquency of the major news media in ignoring any negative news about the vaxxes — prompting these parents to steer clear of vaxxing their children. Other countries have officially and altogether discontinued mRNA vaxxes for children. Do you think that’s for no reason?

If the schools require mRNA shots, then many parents will not send their kids to these schools. Parents have plenty of other reasons to want to withdraw their kids from public schools, not least the pervasive race-and-gender hustle that is replacing actual pedagogy in this country. The schools are now hostage to Marxist lunatics, launched from colleges and universities that are likewise captured by Marxist lunatics. They seek to overturn Western Civilization and its long train of accomplishments in discovering how the world works. They seek to replace all that with a set of wishful fairy tales that don’t comport with reality. Why would any sane parent subject their child to such a wicked regime? Might this not provoke a rebellion against paying the exorbitant school taxes all across America?

Beneath all of this lies the subterranean flow of enormous sums of money to the Pharma companies that virtually own the US public health bureaucracy. Anthony Fauci’s minions, dispersed among the various agencies under the US Department of Health and Human services, plus those in the ancillary CDC, have been pulling hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in royalties from patents associated with the mRNA products. And they’ve continued to haul in that schwag during the three-year fracas over the bad faith origins of Covid 19 and the deceitful introduction of these so-called “vaccines” — which do not stop the transmission of the disease and present manifold dangers to those who take them.

Everything the authorities tell you about all this is a lie. They are turning desperate because the time is at hand when they will actually have to answer for their crimes against the people of this country. They don’t deserve your respect and they surely can’t command your compliance.

Political corruption, a lack of knowledge, and irrational foreign policies have brought the U.S. to a point where it is losing its primacy in the world.

In response to the 2014 U.S. coup in Kiev the Russian Federation supported ethnic Russian rebels in the Donbas region to resist that anti-Russian progroms with which the Nazi-controlled Kiev regime threatened them. This blocked U.S. plans to move Ukraine into NATO and to station U.S. missiles directly at the Russian border.

In 2016 the Democrats sought revenge by pushing fake claims of Russian interference in U.S. elections. To justify her loss in the presidential election Hillary Clinton created 'Russiagate', the false claim the Trump was somehow directed by Russia. She was supported by high ranking officials throughout the deep state and especially within the FBI. In hindsight their behavior was beyond belief:

'Russiagate' created a feverish anti-Russian atmosphere especially within the Democrats and their followers.

Adding to this was a serious ignorance of Russia economic and technological capabilities. U.S. politicians rely on biased media which created a false picture of Russia. I did my best to debunk that as often as I could:

The rest of the NYT piece is not any better than its very first paragraph. It simply repeats false stereotypes about Putin as an "autocratic leader" or about the non-existing Russian influence on U.S. elections.

Nearly thirty years ago when the Soviet Union broke apart Russia had a deep fall. The liberalization of its economy had catastrophic consequences. But it has since reformed itself. It is now back to its traditional position in the world. A large Eurasian power which is in nearly all aspects independent from the rest of the world and able to protect itself. It must therefore be taken into account when one thinks of global polices. That is simply a fact and not the effect of a "mindgame" that Russia allegedly plays with the "west".

That the U.S. still has problems to understand that is not Russia's fault but the result of the skewed descriptions of it.

I wrote the above in December 2019(!). Ten month later I revisited the issue:

Over the last years the U.S. and its EU puppies have ratcheted up their pressure on Russia. They seem to believe that they can compel Russia to follow their diktat. They can't. But the illusion that Russia will finally snap, if only a few more sanctions ar applied or a few more houses in Russia's neighborhood are set on fire, never goes away.

Russia does not accept the fidgety 'rules of the liberal international order'. Russia sticks to the law which is, in my view, a much stronger position. Yes, international law often gets broken. But as Lavrov said elsewhere, one does not abandon traffic rules only because of road accidents.

Russia stays calm, no matter what outrageous nonsense the U.S. and EU come up with. It can do that because it knows that it not only has moral superiority by sticking to the law but it also has the capability to win a fight.

Russia is militarily secure and the 'west' knows that. It is one reason for the anti-Russian frenzy. Russia does not need to bother with the unprecedented hostility coming from Brussels and Washington. It can ignore it while taking care of its interests.

As this is so obvious one must ask what the real reason for the anti-Russian pressure campaign is. What do those who argue for it foresee as its endpoint?

The answer to my question was revealed in mid of last year when the U.S. and the EU threatened Russia with 'crushing sanctions'. The idea was to destroy Russia's economy to then breakup the country. It was a very stupid one:

Russia is the most autarkic country in the world. It produces nearly everything it needs and has highly desirable products that are in global demand and are especially needed in Europe. Russia also has huge financial reserves. A sanctions strategy against Russia can not work.

To use the Ukraine to gaud Russia into some aggression to then apply sanctions was likewise a rather lunatic attempt.

Instead of splitting Russia from China the U.S. has unintentionally done its best to push them into a deeper alliance. It was the most severe strategic error the U.S. could make.

Instead of a taking a new strategic posture that would support a pivot to Asia strategy the U.S. is now moving troops back to Europe.

The narrow-minded bigotry of U.S. decision makers, fed by a belief in U.S. exceptionalism while lacking any conception of real power, has led to this defeat.

The Democratic Party has indeed undermined the entire Constitution with an aim to remove all our freedoms under the guise of “equality,” while the powerful elites who run the nation prosper and are immune from their own laws. The Treasury just created a racial equality board, banks have said they would begin issuing special mortgages for people of color, and even Kamala Harris said that whites would be the last to receive aid after Hurricane Ian. We are no longer energy independent due to woke climate change policies. There would not be an energy crisis in America had Biden not taken office—illegally. Countless government funds are placed into “climate initiatives” that will never see the light of day.

Similar to dictatorships that have abandoned faith, Americans are demonized for their spirituality. They closed our churches during COVID in an attempt to separate the people. The fake Catholic president supports abortion, as does the fake Catholic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Christians are portrayed in the media as closed-minded and ignorant.

The borders are open with more illegals coming in than ever before at the expense of the taxpayer. They are deliberately allowing the borders to remain open as nothing has been done to curb the influx. 

Criminals are indeed protected above law-abiding citizens. This is why they want to remove the Second Amendment and confiscate our guns, one prohibition at a time. Democratic cities are overrun with homelessness, crime, pollution, and drugs. We have an opiate epidemic that is killing off millions. The police are unable to prevent crimes because Democrats have passed laws prohibiting them from arresting criminals, as law-abiding citizens suffer the consequences.

As a former Army Reserve officer who was deployed in Iraq from 2004 to 2005, and served in Kuwait as an Army Military Police platoon leader from 2008 to 2009, Gabbard has seen the aftermath of warfare firsthand. America has no concern for its own borders, but is willing to risk the lives of millions to protect Ukraine’s border. We now face the prospect of nuclear war due to incompetent politicians who have made massive decisions without the vote of the people. Everyone swore Trump would start World War III, but he actually kept America out of international conflicts. Kunstler: Arrest Joe Biden and His Apparatchiks

Last night I had a dream. In the dream I woke up to the banner headline: BIDEN ARRESTED. It was only a dream, but was most satisfying, as it made vivid and emphatic what must happen to correct the dreadful tendings of the criminally psychopathic enterprise that our government has become.

The gang behind the shabby and absurd pretend-president — a figure as comically macabre as the plastic effigies of the undead who crowd American front yards this time of year — is not content with running the country into a ditch. Lately these rogues and degenerates are making noises about blowing up the world.

The autumn days dwindle down to signal events that will overturn this wicked enterprise. The yellow-and-blue flag of Ukraine can’t compete on the lawn with tableaux vivants of werewolves, skeletons hung with rotting flesh, radioactive burn victims, hooded demons from hell escaping their graves, and tortured souls shrieking from the various zones between this world and perdition. America is expressing itself with stunning verisimilitude to the onrush of reality: maybe we’ve had enough of romancing death.

That’s the developing lesson of our fiasco in Ukraine. The past three weeks, the US and its vacillating NATO cohorts issued a set of challenging insults aimed at Russia, the designated “villain” in the concocted Ukraine melodrama produced-and-directed by the Party of Chaos as a diversion from our own acute problems at home.

First, the sabotage of Nord Streams One and Two. Maybe a US op, maybe UK, maybe Poland in the mix somewhere. Obviously not Russia, despite all the clumsy propaganda on CNN. What was the idea there, exactly? To deprive Russia of a natgas export market? Guess what? That leaves plenty of natgas for the other 70-percent of the world that’s not Europe. And plenty of natgas for Russia itself to develop industries in an import-replacement program to offset the idiot economic sanctions recklessly imposed on it by “Joe Biden” & Company.

Not such a good outcome for Germany and the EU, though. They will, first, freeze through the winter with idle furnaces and, second, starve in 2023-24 from a lack of fertilizer (made from natgas in the Haber-Bosch process). Oh, and no more industry for you, Euroland. It’s back to the jolly rigors of the Twelfth Century, planting barley and peasecods with pointed sticks while wolves roam the streets of your deserted cities.

Then, only days ago, the attempted destruction of the bridge over the Kerch Strait in the Black Sea, connecting the Crimean Peninsula to mainland Russia. Nice try. Didn’t work. Both the railroad lanes and the motor lanes are operational again. Who did it? We’ll know soon enough.

Note also: the ongoing shelling and bombing of Ukraine’s giant nuclear power generation plant at Zaporizhzhia — admitted by US officials to be a Ukraine operation in a September 13 New York Times report. Yes, that was the bright idea of America’s advisors to NATO and Ukraine: lob explosives into the biggest nuke plant in Europe. See what happens….

Note also that the main human object of all this US, NATO, and Ukraine mischief is the leader of Russia. That’d be Vladimir Putin. One must admire Mr. Putin’s prudence and fortitude in the face of such provocative effrontery. So far anyway. Now, it appears that he has had enough of these shenanigans. For seven months, the strategy behind Russia’s Special Military Operation has puzzled the West. Why so tentative? Why not just use Russia’s manifest superiority, air power especially, to go in and bust the whole joint up? Do what the US has done in places like Libya and Syria?

Forgive me for repeating what I’ve written more than once before: Russia will not benefit from having a broken, failed state on its doorstep. Such a situation would clearly just invite more international huggermugger. Rather, Russia will benefit hugely from having a neutral, functioning Ukraine next door, a state with ample agricultural resources that could plausibly feed its people and live in peace, perhaps even enjoy special trade privileges with its bigger neighbor to the east… a Ukraine that would be a geographical buffer between Russia and what is apt to be a very disorderly and distressed western Europe on the other side.

The Ukrainian leader, Mr. Zelenskyy, capped off the weeks of sabotage by appealing to the US and NATO to conduct “preemptive nuclear strikes” against Russia proper. That’ll work in Ukraine’s favor, I’m sure. He promised to call German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and make the pitch for NATO jumping into the action on-the-ground. (And with whose army would that be?) Such cheek from this desperado! Going mad-dog is probably not a sign of confidence.

As of Monday, October 10, Russia began delivering some disciplinary actions against Mr. Zelenskyy’s insolent regime. Russia sent missiles into at least 10 Ukrainian cities, targeting electric power generation, water, central heating, and other “key services” in Kiev and elsewhere. Message: if you think we’re fucking around, consider this an attitude adjustment opportunity.

The action is an overture to a strategic shift. Russia aims to speed up the game clock, consolidate its ownership of the Donbas provinces, destroy Ukraine’s remaining military capability, bust up enough stuff to perhaps prompt the Ukrainian people to ask whether continuing to follow Mr. Zelenskyy’s gang is a good idea, and leave no alternative to talks that will leave Ukraine neutralized. Mr. Putin is calling “Joe Biden’s” bluff. All of this could have been avoided, of course, if the maniacs of America’s deep state had simply abided by the promise made thirty years ago to not expand NATO. What part of that didn’t we understand? Apparently, all of it. On purpose. Because we have acted with conscious and arrogant dishonor.

Of course, our “president” could commence that nuclear war he affects to be so avid for. It would be a fitting career-capper for the Ol’ Dawg. The show-runner behind all this needless mayhem, former President Barack Obama, reminded us a while back: “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to fuck things up.” Roger that, BHO! Which gets back to that dream I had of the headline: BIDEN ARRESTED. It was good, but not enough. How about : BIDEN, OBAMA, AND 639 FEDERAL OFFICIALS IN NINE AGENCIES ARRESTED. What a strange moment in our long and steadfast history as an orderly Republic that would be. And yet, what a perfect ending to these years of perfidy and travail.

PayPal Will STEAL $2500 From Your Account for Having the "Wrong" Opinion! Boycott PayPal, GoFundMe!

A new policy update from PayPal will permit the firm to sanction users who advance purported “misinformation” or present risks to user “wellbeing.”

The financial services company, which has repeatedly deplatformed organizations and individual commentators for their political views, will expand its “existing list of prohibited activities” on November 3. Among the changes are prohibitions on “the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials” that “promote misinformation” or “present a risk to user safety or wellbeing.” Users are also barred from “the promotion of hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory.”

Deliberations will be made at the “sole discretion” of PayPal and may subject the user to “damages” — including the removal of $2,500 “debited directly from your PayPal account.” The company’s user agreement contains a provision in which account holders acknowledge that the figure is “presently a reasonable minimum estimate of PayPal’s actual damages” due to the administrative cost of tracking violations and damage to the company’s reputation.

The move comes days after PayPal canceled three accounts linked to Toby Young, a commentator who runs a nonprofit called Free Speech Union. The organization has defended clients such as actor and comedian Russell Brand, who recently moved his show from YouTube to Rumble in reaction to censorship from the former platform.

Roughly one-third of Free Speech Union members rely upon PayPal to process their membership dues — although the company gave no explanation to Young for the suspension beyond mentioning a breach of the acceptable use policy. PayPal later restored the accounts after receiving criticism from lawmakers and apologized to Young for “any inconvenience caused,” according to a report from The Telegraph.

Platforms such as Amazon, Twitter, and Facebook have formerly censored conservatives and others who subscribe to heterodox positions on controversial social issues, including transgenderism and homosexuality. GoFundMe seized millions in funds raised for trucker protests in Canada earlier this year, while Google recently began suppressing search results for crisis pregnancy centers.

Kanye West Tells His Side of the Story of "White Lives Matter" Shirts

In a great article and interview with Kanye West, Tucker Carlson has a beautiful conversation.  Kanye says that his scheduled concert SoFi Stadium on Nov 4th was cancelled because he and Candace Owen wore "White Lives Matter" shirts during an event in Paris. This "radical" and "subversive" behavior bought down an entire (fake) world of scorn and condemnation on their heads.  

I'm so happy that Candace and Kanye are friends.

These are the times that we live in. It really is revolutionary to speak the plain truth in a world of lies and in the Empire of Lies (The US, EU, Nato).

"Oh, Kanye's crazy, they cried."  But listen to the video below of someone who is obviously in a very sane and solid place.  In fact, I've never heard him more sane and sound. That makes me very, very happy.  You see, I'm really pulling for Kanye.  I really am.  I wish nothing but happiness for him and his family.

Kunstler: A November Surprise Courtesy of "The Party of Chaos"?

Welcome to the season of chaos, sponsored by the Party of Chaos, America’s Democratic Party, owner and operator of the shadowy “Joe Biden” regime, dedicated to wrecking what’s left of the country — and the rest of Western Civ with it. Consider for a moment that your personal ruin — the loss of your freedoms, your livelihoods, and your posterity — is at stake behind the more general demolition of our society.

We are barreling into an election that will determine the composition of Congress. There is much chatter about whether this election will be allowed to happen. Signs and portents point to a grievous loss of power for the Party of Chaos. Power is all they care about — certainly not the public interest or the common good — and a particular sort of power: the power to coerce, persecute, and punish.

It is obvious in everything they do; 

• from the FBI swat-team home invasions of select opponents
• the gross mistreatment of the January 6 defendants, 
• the craven censoring of public speech, 
• the imposition of medical tyranny and the deadly fraud of Covid shots, 
• the degenerate insults of their race-and-gender hustles, 
• their assault on the value of our money,
• their sabotage of the oil-and-gas industries, 
• their treasonous abandonment of border control, 
• the deliberate perversion of policing and public order, 
• their promulgation of a faithless and unnecessary war, sharply against our national interests, in faraway Ukraine.

Adults understand that politics is a crooked business, but through the whole of US history until now filters existed in the public arena that allowed for enough sorting out of truth from untruth to enable the formation of a reality-based consensus — which, in turn, allowed daily life to operate coherently. 

The Party of Chaos [Doug here: and the subservient co-conspirators; ie., the Big Tech companies "public forums"] has thrown the kill-switch on that crucial function by corrupting the news business and subverting the new social media. The result is a public culture of pervasive and immersive lying, and a stupendous institutional failure of the courts to correct any of that behavior.

Case-in-point: the John Durham Special Counsel Investigation on the origin of the RussiaGate fraud. It now apparently terminates in the prosecution of the tiniest minnow (Igor Danchenko) in that vast inland sea of corruption. Some of the figures who carried out the perfidious seditions of RussiaGate are still employed in the Department of Justice and the FBI, and to this day are active in the continued cover-up of the crimes committed to overthrow President Trump, notably: Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and others.

Mr. Durham is supposedly among the highest officers of the federal courts charged with enforcing a very particular region of criminality. His staff must be marinated in evidence of the RussiaGate misdeeds — reams of which have been independently documented in the public record, ranging from (just for example) the nefarious activities of figures like Nellie Ohr, wife of DOJ higher-up Bruce Ohr, working as go-between with Christopher Steele and the FBI, to the spectacular failures of Judge James Boasberg and his FISA court, not to mention the well-known machinations of Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Andrew McCabe, Rob Rosenstein, Dana Boente, James Baker, Andrew Weissmann, Jeannie Rhee, Aaron Zebley, Brandon Van Grack, Robert Mueller, and other top officials who worked sedulously against the public interest. All these remain apparently off-the-hook for their sketchy activities.

How did that happen? If the Party of Chaos loses control of its Congressional majority, Mr. Durham may have to answer that question. And until he does, American justice will remain a deeply broken institution that citizens can’t trust. In that light, how is our country any better than the most overt petty despotisms around the world? How does it deserve the citizens’ respect or even compliance?

The stakes in the midterm elections are huge for the Party of Chaos, and its worker bees may be capable of any duplicity to throw it off the rails. In my soon-to-drop next podcast, blogger Tom Luongo (of Gold, Goats, and Guns) introduces a surprising twist: the election takes place, he says, but the Party of Chaos finds a way to delay the announcement of the results via procedural shenanigans that go on for weeks after November 8, leaving the country in a state of anxious limbo.[Doug here: obviously to give them time to calculate the number of manufactured ballots that are needed in so many races (that they are losing)!  They will do whatever is necessary to remain in power---like the good Bolsheviks that they are.] What an idea! Such a strategy would wreck the last shred of public trust in elections without having to cancel, postpone, or overtly overthrow the process. It would also invite just the sort of public protest that the Party of Chaos can spin into another insurrection narrative.

I’m strangely confident that there is a hidden column of people that love this country who will not allow this final insulting scam to succeed. Its appearance among us will shock and amaze the multitudes. The rule of the Woke Jacobin maniacs will end. And even though we’ll have to live through the wreckage they brought about, we’ll move about this strange new landscape of hardship in the light of reality-made-visible, seeing clearly what has happened and knowing what we must do to revive our country.

The Conflict Between the West and Russia Is a Religious/Cultural One

The war currently underway in Ukraine—which pits Ukraine as a proxy for the collective West against Russia—is primarily an ideological or religious one, with Russia representing what is left of Christian Europe, and “the West” representing a totalitarian ideology that abhors religion in general and Christianity in particular. This statement may sound strange, given the fact that some Westerners – though fewer every day – still see “the West,” (basically Europe and North America) as Christian, and Russia as Communist, or crypto-Communist. But this is no longer the case and has not been for some considerable time. In fact, the thirty years that have passed since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Soviet Union, have seen a complete reversal of roles; the collective West is now a totalitarian and aggressively anti-religious power-block that seeks to export its anti-Christian and anti-human ideology onto the rest of the world. And Russia is loathed by the West's ruling elite precisely because it has resisted this process and moreover has gone in the opposite direction: having once been an active proponent of “scientific materialism” and atheism, Russia has reverted to its Orthodox Christian roots and has rolled back the more pernicious policies and attitudes of the Soviet era.

In order to demonstrate the truth of this, we need to look at the history of Russia and its interaction with the West since the early 1990s.

By 1991, when the Soviet Union was officially abolished, it was clear that the West had won the Cold War. Russia itself, under its new president Boris Yeltsin, openly proclaimed the end of all hostilities. Russia's satellites in Eastern Europe were permitted to go their own way, and autonomous republics within the Soviet Union were allowed to declare themselves independent countries. The old Soviet system of state ownership was officially abolished, and almost everything was privatised. The press and media in general were freed of all censorship and could now say whatever they wanted. Russia under Yeltsin reached out the hand of friendship to the West – a gesture that was not reciprocated and ultimately snubbed by the West.

There seems to be no logical explanation other than to assume an underlying cultural/religious antipathy towards Russia and her people on the part of a very large segment of the West's ruling plutocracy.

The euphoria of 1991 soon gave way and the 1990s turned out to be a catastrophic decade for Russia and her people. First and foremost, the policy of privatisation turned out to be disastrous. A law was passed which forbade foreigners from buying Russian utilities and industries; only Russians could do so. Unfortunately, nobody in Russia, hitherto a Communist country, had any money. However, certain groups within the country – mainly ethnic Jews – had important and wealthy connections abroad. These arranged to have funds sent into Russia for the purpose of purchasing the country's state-owned industries. Desperate for any dollars and euros it could lay its hands on, the Yeltsin administration sold these industries for a tiny fraction of their true value. (Russia's natural resources alone make it potentially one of the wealthiest countries on the planet). The buyers of said industries became the notorious “oligarchs,” who systematically plundered the country for almost ten years, in what has been described as the biggest act of looting in history. Rather than plow some of the profits back into the businesses, the oligarchs exported almost all of them, impoverishing both their employees and the country in general. The result was that large segments of the population began to experience severe hardship. Many came close to starvation and many died of hypothermia during the bitter Russian winters. Some state employees were paid in cabbages, and it is estimated that Russia suffered over five million excess deaths between 1991 and 2000. The majority of these were caused by simple diseases such as influenza, which developed into pneumonia for want of funds to buy an antibiotic. But deaths from all causes, including murder, suicide, alcoholism, and drug addiction, rocketed. Russia was a country falling apart, and the population began to plummet.

During this time, a Chechen independence movement, spurred on by funds from Saudi Arabia and (allegedly) the West, launched a violent campaign against the Russian authorities. A savage war followed, which claimed tens of thousands of lives, and eventually resulted in 1997 in Yeltsin's recognition of a semi-independent Chechnya. Independence movements began to appear in other autnomous regions and it was clear that Russia itself stood on the verge of disintegration.

During all of this, the attitude of the West, or of those who control the West, was striking. Western media, by that time in the hands of a few mega-corporations, was almost gleeful in its reporting of Russia's trauma. In their suffering, the Russian people became the butt of the West's shadenfreude. And it should be borne in mind that it was precisely in the 1990s that American corporations commenced massive “outsourcing” of their industries to other, and less expensive, locations. Entire factories, together with their machinery and technology, were exported en masse, primarily to China. Almost nothing went to Russia. This in spite of the fact that China continued to be a Communist and indeed totalitarian country. Not even the massacre of Tiananmen Square (1989) and the subsequent brutal repression could halt the American plutocracy's enthusiasm for exporting work and business. So Russia, which had held out the hand of friendship to the West, and had permitted the subjugated peoples to go free, continued to be treated as an enemy, and was effectively plundered by Western interests, whereas China, which did no such thing, was now treated as a favored trading and business partner. How to explain such an astonishing disparity?

There seems to be no logical explanation other than to assume an underlying cultural/religious antipathy towards Russia and her people on the part of a very large segment of the West's ruling plutocracy. I suggest that this is the case, and it is Russia's religion that is at the root of it.

During the Communist era, Christianity was suppressed in Russia and throughout the Soviet block. At its worst, under Lenin and Stalin, the Communist regime massacred millions of Christians. Victims were mainly Orthodox, but Christians of every denomination suffered. Even after the death of Stalin and into the 1980s religion continued to be persecuted. All children were required to attend lessons in atheism, during which Christianity and religious faith in general was mocked. By the end of Communism, the Orthodox Church was a small remnant of its former self under the Tsars, but that soon began to change. Hardship birthed a spiritual revival; by the mid-1990s the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as other branches of Christianity, began to experience noticeable growth. It was not however until the first decade of the twenty-first century, and the presidency of Vladimir Putin, that this movement became really significant.

Putin had occupied a senior position in the Yeltsin administration, and he was no doubt viewed by the oligarchs, at that time the real rulers of Russia, as a safe pair of hands who could be relied upon to continue the policies which had allowed them to plunder the country for almost a decade. He was appointed Prime Minister on 9th August 1999 and, just four months later, in December, acting President of Russia, following the unexpected resignation of Boris Yeltsin. A presidential election on 20th March 2000 was easily won by Putin with 53% of the votes. One reason for Putin's popularity was that he was seen as a strong leader during the Second Chechen War, which commenced on 7th August 1999, just two days before his appointment as Prime Minister. The war ended in April 2000, with Chechnya again part of the Russian Federation, a victory which enhanced Putin's reputation as a strongman, willing and able to restore stability and enforce the law.

Over the next five years, Putin showed that the ruling plutocrats were very much deceived had they imagined him to be under their control and part of their team. On the contrary, the new president set about breaking their power. The next decade witenessed a series of legal cases and trials which left some of the oligarchs in prison and others forced to pay substantial compensation. Others, arguably the most criminal, fled the country and their assets were confiscated. The breaking of the oligarchs' power, together with that of the “Russian mafia” which enforced their corrupt rule, began to restore some form of normality.

In 2013, the Russian "Gay Propaganda Law", described as “Protecting Children from Information harmful to their Health and Development,” explicitly banned Gay Pride parades, as well as other forms of LGBT material, such as books and pamphlets, which attempted to normalize homosexuality and to influence children in their attitudes to homosexuality.

In parallel with his economic reforms, Putin oversaw a revival of the Russian Orthodox faith. In an act heavy with symbolic import, he made a visit to the great Orthodox monastic settlement of Mount Athos in Greece in 2001, just one year into his presidency. Although this attempt had to be aborted owing to a storm which grounded his helicopter, and a second attempt in 2004 similarly shelved when he had to return to Russia to deal with the Beslan School siege, he finally made it to the Holy Mountain in 2005. There he established a bond with the monks that transformed their community and impacted the lives of ordinary Russians. A major program of church-construction commenced, and the numbers attending church began to grow. Putin made it clear that he regarded Orthodoxy as Russia's national religion and the Church was accorded a favored legal position. And such symbolic gestures were backed by new legislation which began to transform Russian society: the country's abortion laws, hitherto some of the most liberal in the world, were tightened. In October 2011, the Russian Parliament passed a law restricting abortion to the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, with an exception up to 22 weeks if the pregnancy was the result of rape. The new law also made mandatory a waiting period of two to seven days before an abortion could be performed, to allow the woman to “reconsider her decision.”

During this period, the portrayal of Russia in the Western media moved from one of condescension to outright hostility. As early as 2005, scholars Ira Straus and Edward Lozansky remarked upon a pronounced negative coverage of Russia in the US media, contrasting negative media sentiment with largely positive sentiment of the American public and US government. As Russia displayed increasing signs of a Christian revival, so the media reporting in the West became increasingly hostile. Only rarely however did journalists openly attack Russia for its “Christianization”; normally, columnists, conscious of the fact that large numbers of people in the West continued to describe themselves as Christian, portrayed their anti-Russian commentary as a result of Russia's “aggression,” “corruption,” or “lack of democracy.” All that however changed with the new abortion law of 2011. Now the attacks against Russia became explicitly ideological. The Russians, we were told, were oppressing women and turning their backs on “progress.”

It was not until 2013, however, that the anti-Russian rhetoric went hyperbolic. In that year, the Russian parliament passed its so-called “Gay Propaganada” law. The bill, described as “Protecting Children from Information harmful to their Health and Development,” explicitly banned Gay Pride parades, as well as other forms of LGBT material, such as books and pamphlets, which attempted to normalize homosexuality and to influence children in their attitudes to homosexuality. In actual fact, since around 2006, many districts in Russia had been imposing their own local bans on such material, though these rules had no power outside their own jurisdiction. The bill, which was signed into law by Putin on June 30 2013, was extremely popular, and passed through the Russian Parliament unanimously, with just one abstention. But the impact upon the Western nomenklatura who form the gatekeepers of acceptable opinion, was immediate. Almost unanimously, Western media outlets now began to compare Putin with Adolf Hitler; he was a “thug,” a “fascist,” a “murderer.” Between bouts of seething rage, he became the butt of scathing satire. He was cast in the role of a caricature James Bond villain, routinely murdering and torturing those he held a grudge against. There is even evidence, admittedly somewhat circumstantial, that Western Intelligence bodies, such as the CIA and MI5, became actively involved in anti-Russian propaganda.

The collective “West” could not have been unaware of the dangers of its interference in the affairs of Ukraine.

The effect of this deluge of demonization upon ordinary Westerners soon began to show: Whereas in 2006 only 1% of Americans listed Russia as “America's worst enemy” by 2019 32% of Americans, including 44% of Democrat voters, shared this view. Only 28% of Republicans however agreed; a remarkable reversal of opinion. During the Cold War, Republican voters, traditionally the more religious and nationalistic element of the American political divide, viewed the Russians as the major threat; now it was the less or non-religious (and more pro-LGBT) Democrats who held this opinion.
